Buslink NT in conjunction with Road Safety Week (15-22 November 2020) is offering an exciting territory-wide art competition for students that will see the winning design feature on the back of a bus.

Buslink NT CEO, Tony Hopkins said the competition is aimed at educating children and teenagers in a fun way about safe practices that will keep them out of harm’s way.

“Safety around buses is paramount, especially with the today’s distractions of technology. We wanted something that would resonate with kids, to make them stop and think when getting off the school bus and crossing the road.

“Along with colouring-in templates for younger children, we’re asking students to come up with an original design or slogan that either communicates what they should do with their mobile phones and earphones before exiting a bus, when is it safe to cross the road, or what they consider to be the most important bus safety rule.

“We encourage parents and caregivers to get their children involved during Road Safety Week. Entering is easy, they can upload a photo or file of their artwork online until 5pm Sunday 22 November,” Mr Hopkins said.

Twelve prizes will be awarded across primary and middle/senior school categories divided across three zones covering the Northern Territory. For all the details and to enter visit  www.buslink.com.au/art-competition.
