Buslink continues its efforts to keep locals employed and grow local skills with the appointment of a new Mechanical Aprentice.

Marc Baltazar, who goes by his middle name Devon, was awarded the coveted position after demonstrating a strong commitment to personal growth, his co-workers and management.

Devon received a Staff Appreciation Award in 2019 for his efforts, working at Buslink as a casual Special Needs carer since finishing school December 2017.  He also works in the wash bay cleaning buses and it was there that he was recognised as a hard worker. The mechanics actually contacted him to suggest he apply.

Buslink is proud to give such an opportunity to a keen employee who has worked hard. The NT, like much of Australia, is still experiencing a lack of skilled diesel mechanics, so it is even more important that these vital skills are developed to create career paths for young locals.
