CATEGORY 1 – PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Option 2

Design an original image and/or slogan that communicates one of the following safety concerns for students when exiting a bus:

  1. What should you do with mobiles and earphones/earbuds before you exit a bus? OR
  2. After exiting a bus, when is it safe to cross the road? (Hint: After the bus has moved away).

CATEGORY 2 – MIDDLE / SENIOR SCHOOL STUDENTS

Choose from one of the below options for the chance to win one of 12 $50 movie vouchers. The winning high school student design will also star on a bus!*

Option 1

Design an image and/or slogan that communicates one of the following safety concerns for students when exiting the bus:

  1. What should you do with mobiles and earphones/earbuds before you exit a bus? OR
  2. After exiting a bus, when is it safe to cross the road? (Hint: After the bus has moved away).

Option 2

Design an image and/or slogan that clearly communicates what you consider to be the most important bus safety rule.

How to enter? Follow the guidelines below

Entry Guidelines

  1. All entries must be received before 5pm ACST Sunday 22 November 2020.
  2. The competition is open to all students attending primary or middle/senior high school in the Northern Territory (NT). Prizes will be awarded across three defined areas: Darwin, Palmerston/Rural, and Regional NT (subject to the exceptions set out in the terms and conditions).
    • ‘Darwin’ includes all schools within the City of Darwin
    • ‘Palmerston/Rural’ includes all schools within the City of Palmerston and the following Rural schools

    • ‘Regional NT’ includes all NT schools located outside of the defined Darwin and Palmerston/Rural areas.
  3. Entries must be in A4 portrait or landscape format.
  4. Primary school category colouring in templates can be found above. 
  5. Limited to one entry per student.
  6. Artwork to be submitted via a digital or scanned file or photograph uploaded via the form below. All entries must be the student’s original artwork. Entries may be drawn by hand and using a medium of the student’s choice or digitally designed.
  7. Students under 18 years of age must provide parent/guardian consent to participate.
  8. The overall winning design in the original artwork category for middle/senior high school students will appear on the rear of a school bus.  The original artwork must be surrendered by the winning entry in order to participate in the major bus artwork prize and the winning entrant must surrender their intellectual property rights in the artwork in accordance with the terms and conditions.
  9. The total prize pool comprises 12 movie vouchers valued at $50 each for use at participating cinemas.
  10. One $50 movie voucher will be awarded to each of the first and second placegetters in each of the two categories (primary school and middle/senior high school) for students located within the three defined areas: Darwin, Palmerston/Rural, and Regional NT.
  11. All entrants will receive a certificate of participation delivered by email.
  12. Winners and placegetters will be determined by a judging panel.  The judging panel is comprised of representatives of Buslink, the NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics and the NT Department of Education. Winners and runners-up will be announced on Monday 30 November 2020 on the Buslink website and Toward Zero Facebook page.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The competition is conducted by Buslink NT Pty Ltd located at 113 Pruen Road, Berrimah NT 0828 (the Promoter).
  2. Competition partners include Road Safety NT and Department of Education NT (the Partners).
  3. All submitted artwork becomes the intellectual property of the Promoter and may be used without limitation for the purpose of the promotion.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries, disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. An entry which is indecipherable, illegible, or non-compliant with these terms and conditions is invalid and will not be accepted or considered. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding and cannot be contested.
  5. By entering this competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and you give your consent to the Promoter to collect, use and store your entry information, including personal information, for the purpose of contacting you about the competition and for promotional and other marketing materials.
  6. The prize winner will be notified, either by email or telephone, on how the prize is to be delivered or collected.
  7. The winner’s name will be published on the Promoter and/or Partners’ websites, and may appear on Promoter and Partner social media channels. The winners may be asked to participate in any publicity regarding the competition.
  8. If any prize remains unclaimed or forfeited through ineligibility or otherwise, the promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize. Prize winners will be given 10 working days from the date of the draw to claim the prize via reply to notification email, failing which reallocation may be considered.
  9. It will be the winner’s responsibility to redeem the prize from the Promoter. If the winner fails to redeem the prize from the promoter within 30-days the prize will be forfeited. The prize winner agrees that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability for any delay or failure to deliver a prize, or failure by the Promoter to meet any of its obligations in these conditions of entry or otherwise.
  10. If this competition is interfered with in any way, or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason, the Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
  11. to disqualify any entrant, or
  12. subject to any written directions from a regulatory (or other appropriate) authority to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate.
  13. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and is non-redeemable for cash. Where no cinema exists within the nearest town or a reasonable travel distance, a prize to the value of $50 may be substituted by the Promoter and at the Promoters discretion.
  14. The Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition, including but not limited to:
  15. any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control)
  16. any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference
  17. any entry, prize, or claim for a prize that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether before or after receipt by the promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter
  18. any variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions
  19. any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by a winner or entrant, and
  20. use of the prize.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the bus art prize subject to meeting a minimum quality and standard of entries to be determined by the Promoter.
